Marwa is in a safe place

SICF_Marwa
Dear Linda, Michael, Carl, Angie, Marjorie, and Reagan,

Marwa is seven year old and lives with her widowed mother and four sisters in a very poor area. After Marwa’s father died, they no longer had a breadwinner and her widowed mother is unable to work on an ongoing basis because of an illness. Instead, the family is dependent on handouts from locals. Marwa was unable to attend school and suffered a difficult life of deprivation, hunger, and lack of normal childhood care. More than a year ago, some caring adults in her Iraqi community reached out to her and today, with your generous support, Mona is in a safe place where she can enjoy some of the experiences of a normal childhood, with tutoring, healthy meals, health care and other loving social services.

The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.

Thank you Linda, Michael, Carl, Angie, Marjorie, and Reagan for giving Marwa the chance at a better childhood.
