Abdullah has a chance to reclaim his childhood
posted December 11, 2012
Abdullah is 10 years old. His father died when he was six and left him and his mother in desperate poverty. To help make a living for his mother, Abdullah had to leave school and go to the streets to sell simple items. Abdullah faced a lot of abuse on the streets that affected him psychologically — he became filled with hate toward society and inner turmoil. He was on the verge of being a lost delinquent when caring adults came to his rescue. Today, with your sponsorship help, Abdullah is receiving tutoring, nutrition, health care, and social services to address his behavioral problems so he can be reintegrated back into the world of normal childhood.
The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.
With your help, children like Abdullah can reclaim their childhood.
