Nine year old Deana lives with her divorced mother under conditions of extreme poverty. Although she is a child, she left school and her childhood to work with her mother, laboring hard and long in cleaning houses. Deana dreamed of returning to school and one day even becoming a teacher. Because caring adults in her Iraqi community learned of her plight and reached out to her, Deana was given a chance to receiving tutoring, a healthy breakfast and lunch, health care, and time for recreation and play along with other children. Thank you, Dennis, for your sponsorship support, which is making a life-changing difference for Deana.
The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.
Thank you, Dennis, for supporting Deana and the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation.
