Kawther finally receives schooling

image01
Pari, Becky and Meribeth,

Kawther is an eight year-old orphan who lives with relatives in desperate poverty. She had no one to really take care of her so she spent her time in the streets, wearing tattered clothes and suffering from lack of hygiene and malnutrition. When she saw other girls attending school when she couldn’t, she would cry. Today, with your sponsorship, Kawther is enjoying some of the normal experiences of childhood though the care of adults who provide her with tutoring, health care, food, and play in a safe environment.

The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.

With your help, children like Kawther can reclaim their childhood.
