A caring community saved Jaafer from exploitation

SICF Holiday Campaign 2012 Jaafer
Dear Anonymous and Leary and Joy,

14 year-old Jaafer comes from a very poor family in Iraq. He had to leave school to work on the streets selling tissues. Tragically, he was exposed many times to abuse and violence during this time and became a target for exploitation. Caring Iraqi adults in Jaafer’s community reached out to him and rescued him from his dangerous life. With the help of your sponsorship, Jaafer now has a safe place to get an education, social and health care, as well as help from behavior improvement and rehabilitation programs.

The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.

With your help, Anonymous and Leary & Joy, children like Jaafer can reclaim their childhood.
