Amer has the support to become social again

SICF Holiday Campaign 2012 Amer
Dear Khalid, Natalie, Cindy & Steve, and Steve,

Amer is a 10 year-old orphan who lives with relatives in a very poor neighborhood in Iraq. He collected cans from garbage dumps to earn a bit of money and suffered from negligence, deprivation, and abuse because of his work. Due to this trauma, he became unsocial, violent, and fearful. Caring adults in his Iraqi community reached out to him, and gave him lots of love and compassion as well as education, health care, and social support. Now, with the help of your sponsorship, Amer is enjoying his new life as a child.

The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.

With your help, Khalid, Natalie, Cindy and Steve, and Steve, children like Amer can reclaim their childhood.
