Salma is finally out of the streets

Salma is a seven year old orphan that lives with her uncle under conditions of extreme poverty. She does not receive the care a child needs and spends most of her time on the streets.As a result, she suffers from malnutrition and poor hygiene.Caring adults in her local Iraqi community found her and extended a helping hand with tutoring, healthy meals, health care, and opportunities to enjoy her childhood.Your generous sponsorship donation provides Salma with life-changing help.

The mission of the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation is to assist the families and communities of Iraq by mobilizing a life-changing “Surge of Love” for millions of children orphaned by violence in Iraq. They are committed to doing this under the leadership of the Iraqi people by serving as a catalyst to mobilize U.S. and international partners; investing in training and capacity building of Iraq’s non-governmental and community organizations; and emphasizing direct assistance for hand up, not hand out, projects.
